Itinerary

DAY 1
Arrival to Amorgos and transfer to 5***** Aegialis Hotel & Spa.
Welcome, drink and snack.

DAY 2
After breakfast, you will be guided to the Spa where you will have free access to all the Spa facilities (sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, indoor seawater pool, and fitness center) during your whole stay.

You will be guided to the hotel grounds where you will be introduced to seasonal vegetables and the local herbs.

Cooking class where you will be taught how to make traditional organic vegetarian dishes. After the class, you will enjoy all the healthy and organic dishes prepared.

In the afternoon, it will be time to walk to the nearby village to meet the locals and enjoy a coffee at sunset, afterward you’ll have time to relax at the Spa and later enjoy a lovely dinner.

DAY 3
On day 3 we will take a special tour, to get to know the island. We will visit the most beautiful capital of the Cyclades island complex, “Chora”, which has 40 churches of different architecture, an Archaeological Museum, a Cultural museum and 10 windmills.

Visit to the 1000-year-old Monastery of Chozoviotissa, built 300 meters above the water. Here you will feel like you are in the sky. You will experience the unlimited “Big Blue”, which inspired Luc Besson to create his famous movie.
Following, we’ll visit the Monastery of St. George Valsamitis. This place has a special aura and positive energy, as it is built on the ruins of the ancient water oracle dedicated to Apollo God.

Today, we can still see the cave inside the church, with the water which was “forecasting” the future. Picnic lunch and return to the Hotel. In the afternoon, a ride to Lagada village, to visit a local sweet shop, and to enjoy an amazing sunset over a coffee with a delicious homemade dessert. Free time to relax and enjoy the spa facilities before your dinner.

DAY 4
In the morning, after breakfast we’ll visit the port to get fresh fish from the fishermen, for the day’s fish food cooking. After the cooking class, lunch you’ll have free time to enjoy the Spa, or take a walk, later dinner will be served at the hotel with some live music. After dinner we can go to the venue, where the preparations for the festivities of Saint John take place.

DAY 5
Morning yoga (optional) and breakfast at the hotel, after we’ll visit the chapel of Saint John in Akrotiri Tholaria, where the festival is taking place, and there will be food and traditional dishes such as Patatato, for everyone attending.

After breakfast, we’ll take small trip to Tholaria village and visit a local house.
You will see the cellar where the crops were stored for the year, the stone oven which was lit with wood, and the house, with a small distillery for essential oils, from the herbs of Amorgos. You will be offered traditional spoon sweets and homemade liqueur, optionally we can also stop at the local cafe for ouzo and meze.

Return to the hotel for your cooking session, with traditional recipes for meats and sweets & lunch with the food cooked.

Exfoliation Spa Jet Therapy and relaxing massage in the Spa and later dinner at the hotel.
