ARCHAELOGICAL MUSEUM
The Tower of Gavras is located in the centre of Chora. It is a building of Venetian architecture, dating back to the 16th century. Today, the Tower functions as a museum. Finds from archaeological excavations around the ancient cities of Aegiali, Arsekini and Minoa are housed here. Sculptures, statues, bas-reliefs, pottery and more are exhibited in two show rooms and at the outdoor terraces, upstairs and downstairs. They date back to the Archaic period (6th century BCE) and up to Roman times, 2nd century CE.
